About Us, Your Bristol Dog Walkers
About Wendy the Dog Walker
All my life I have been surrounded by and loved animals of one kind or another. As a child, there were always animals in the house and my family had a great love and respect for animals in the wild. As an adult, I have continued to enjoy the pleasure that animals can bring. I have homed and cared for dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, giant african land snails, fish – you name it – and I continue to have a love for animals in the wild; feeding and watching the wild birds, hedgehogs and badgers that I am lucky enough to have visit my garden. I have spent many weekends over several years volunteering at the Bath Cats’ and Dogs’ home, dog walking, undertaking home visits, cuddling cats, fostering kittens, and even socialising with ferrets.

Homing animals is a great responsibility. Like children, they require almost constant care and attention no matter what else you have got going on in your life. I have been lucky enough to have great family, friends and neighbours who have been able to step in and look after my animals on the odd occasion when I have been kept away, and I have been able to repay this generosity. But this arrangement is not always appropriate for everyone and even with the best plans in the world, lives and circumstances change.
When I decided to have a life change and move away from a full-time career in teaching, it was instantly clear to me what I would like to spend my time doing. And so here I am – walking and caring for dogs when their owners are unable to. I spend my days surrounded by animals that I love whilst knowing that I am able to take away the stress that comes with having to leave your dog when you have to work or go away. Who could ask for more?
